My name is Thomas Koslo, and I am a Brooklyn based creative.
I describe myself as a creative because I made my beginnings working as a professional photographer, and organically over time that has shifted into me regularly assuming the role of director of photography, producer, and creative director.
I started working in media as a production assistant, and made the incredibly financially irresponsible decision to pursue photography as a trade with no back-up plan. Fortunately, it worked out, but it was an arduous road often learning the hard way of how to run my own business. What makes me special, I think, is that out of necessity early on I did what ever I had to in order to survive.
Most photographers and videographers pursue a niche, I pursue projects. Yes I do headshots, and I do real estate, but my attitude towards a job is directed at achieving my clients desired result. I believe what makes me special has something to do with that— I get out of my own way and focus on building a relationship with my client and understanding their needs. This sounds obvious, but you would be surprised how many providers get completely derailed by stepping outside their comfort zone.
This website is a showcase of work that I have done, services I currently offer, and hopefully an informative insight into the experience of working with me.
